Dear
Friend,
My name is Gordon Campbell, and I've
got SEVERAL job intervew questions to ask that could change your life
forever...
Have
YOU Prepared
Enough for the Job Interview?
Too many of us settle
for a what's "good enough." You meet the hiring
manager... give your best answer to job interview questions... and if
you're lucky, you get the job.
Will
YOU Make
a Strong First Impression for the Job Interview?
Are you just any other candidates for
the job? Do you think you stood out from the rest of the candidates?
The
most difficult part of job interviews is convincing the hiring manager
that you are fit for the job. You need to demonstrate your capabilites
and qualities as well as act properly for the profession of your choice.
Will
YOU Pass
the Personality Test?
Most
interviews are quick to make decisions about you as soon as you walk-in
based on their 'gut' instincts. They typically have a set of favorite
questions to ask and don't usually mention anything about the job.
These job interviewers will:
- Will say 'I like you!,' in 10 minutes after your
conversation.
- Finish the job interview quickly if they
don't like you.
- Typical ask questions about you as a person, not as a
professional.
- Not ask anything about the job requirements.
- Find out if you can work well with other people.
The challenge is how to work on your
appearance, look good and act with confidence.
Will
YOU Pass
the Character Test?
Another
type of a job interviewer is someone who ask personal questions as
opposed to how you can contribute to the company. The job is typically
administrative or a job that does not require a highly-trained
professional. It's a job that anyone can do it.
The job interviewer will make his or
her decisions based on your character and will:
- Try to discover your values, feelings and emotions.
- Ask more questions about your personal
qualities.
- Want to know how you think and feel.
- Want to know if you can work with a team.
- Want to know if you are the right person who can work with
Employee A and Employee B, etc.
- Probe your character.
You
will need to work out on how to speak you values and character.
Demonstrate how these can contribute to the company. Visit the
company's website and find out what they do, their core business and
find out who will interview you.
Will
YOU Pass
the Professional Relationship Test?
A job interviewer
may not ask anything
about your personal qualities. This is true if:
- You have graduated from a reputable university.
- You have previously worked in a well-known
company.
- You were referred by another employee, or a friend of the
hiring manager.
- Have heard about you from several sources.
- You are currently employed and looking for another
opportunity.
Common
questions asked in this type of job interview revolves around
discussing one topic after another. There's a set of 'standard'
questions about the job requirements and are mostly technically based.
The job interviewer is conversational in this setting and typically:
- The job interview is easy-going and conversational.
- Moves from topic to topic.
- Informally discusses about the work culture and the
environment you will be working in.
- Mostly relationship-based and will discuss
about the future plans of the company and its senior management.
- Will ask general questions about your career.
This
job interview setting may look easy, but the decision is made based on
your willingness to join the company. It will be a challenge to
convince the hiring manager that you want the job and you are not
looking for a short-term employment. Hiring an employee can be very
expensive.
You are expected to be confident but
not arrogant, friendly and professional.
Will
YOU Pass
the Behavioral Test?
The
job interview is typically detailed and based on a set of
questionnaires about the job. The job interviewer will ask about your
professional qualifications and your professional career. The job
interviewer:
- Will use assessment tools and usually takes notes.
- Will ask detailed questions about your
professional background
- Will ask examples of how your were able to solve a problem
- Will ask the methods you use to solve a
problem.
The
job interview questions are fact-based and objective. This is typical
for jobs that require detailed understanding of the business. The job
interview questions will be linked to the job you are applying for.
You
are expected to think on your feet and be analytical. You are expected
to know your core competencies and how can you use your skills to
contribute to the organization.
You can say "I am competent in ____
and I believe this will ____".
However, there are instance where the
job interview will not be impressed by your questions. Even you have an
impressive resume or C.V., never as the
following questions:
- Don't discuss anything about the salary. Wait for the offer
then you can negotiate later.
- Don't discuss anything about your personal
issues.
- Don't talk about religion, politics, etc.
- Don't make negative reference to anyone or
any organizations.
- Don't make negative reference your previous jobs or
employers.
Try
not to make an impression that you are looking for a job to pay the
rent. Prepare a set of questions to ask at job interviews to know if
you will be provided with all the resources you need to do your job.
Will
YOU Make
a Strong First Impression?
You are currently looking for a new
job... if you've got an interview coming up soon... or you've
just never felt like you're making the BEST impression
possible in past job interviews then pay careful
attention.

excited to hear about the incredible job interview

What
a Hiring Manager is Realy Looking For
I
have interviewed a young fellow from Portland, Oregon for a vacant
position in the Finance Department in the company I used to work for in
Los Angeles. While he was very enthusiastic, great personality and has
an impressive resume, he didn't get the job.
I knew the young
fellow can do the job well, however, he didn't give a clear picture
about what he can do and how he can solve problems. Sure, his resume
says all about his previous job responsibilities, but I was looking
for someone who is confident and who can prove to me that he
has
the leadership skills.
I didn't get clear answers to my questions
and I can feel that he was nervous and uncomfortable. The job requires
presentation skills and working with senior management. His resume says
he has these skills but I didn't see it at the point when I asked him
about his presentation and people skills.
Believe me, I've seen in the EXACT
same job candidates before...
I
remember the feeling of stress these job candicate are going through...
of uncertainty... of squeezing my eyes shut and tell the candidate the answers
to the job interview questions.
But it will be unprofeesional if I did
just that.
